These Sweet Sesame Seed Date Balls have been my favourite the past few weeks! I have shared them with multiple people and everyone has loved them! Right now I am trying to avoid nuts so I adjusted some date balls recipes with nuts to include just seeds. You can substitute the seeds in this recipe for any nuts of your choice!
Did you know that…
Dates actually are not considered high on glycemic load list. What is glycemic load? It gives a more accurate picture of a food’s impact on blood sugar. How? It measures the amount of carbohydrates in a serving of food. Low glycemic load is anything below 10, 10-20 is moderate and greater than 20 is high.
Dates have a rating of around 18. The cut off for high glycemic load is 20, so while it’s rating is quite high it is still a better alternative than something like raisins which has a glycemic load of 28!
