Technology is great....when it works. Ther Technology is great....when it works.

There are so many apps out there right now that help women track their cycles and help them to determine the best time to conceive. Which sounds like it is great in theory! And to be honest, it does work for some women. But not for all women, especially when it comes to PCOS.

Ovulation can vary from month to month. So if your app is taking the average amount of days in between cycles, for example, 42 days dividing it into half and telling you that you probably ovulate around cycle day 21, it may or may not be true depending on that cycle.

The best way is to use the app, but also look out for the signs of ovulation such as cervical discharge, tenderness around your ovaries, positive LH stripes.

Do you use an app to track your cycle? Which app do you use? Drop it in the comments below to help another #cyster out!

I strongly believe in the support of a community. I strongly believe in the support of a community. No one knows exactly what you are going through without the support of others going through the same thing. ⁣
. ⁣
In 2013, they looked at the impact of online peer to peer support for women with PCOS. ⁣
. ⁣
What they found was that support groups helped with the following: ⁣
- connecting with others who understand ⁣
- accessing information and advice ⁣
- building confidence in the interactions individuals have with their health care providers ⁣
- facilitated treatment-related decision making⁣
- improved adjustment and management of their PCOS. ⁣
. ⁣
However, they did find that women could experience feelings of disempowerment by: ⁣
- reading negative experiences ⁣
- feeling like an outsider due to lack of responses ⁣
. ⁣
I feel like the positives outweigh the negatives from what they found. It is really about joining each other and supporting each other as much as we can. This creates positive vibrational energy that is so unique! ⁣
. ⁣
Come join our Facebook Group called - Natural PCOS support group. It is non-judgemental, relaxed and informative! I will be posting on it regularly and supporting you as much as I can. ⁣

Racing thoughts, constant worry, sweating, clenchi Racing thoughts, constant worry, sweating, clenching your jaw, tight shoulders.....these are all the signs you may be stressed.

We know stress can impact the body in terms of hormones.

Higher levels of stress can:

❤️ Impact our ability to produce certain hormones such as estrogen and progesterone.
❤️ Impact endometrial lining
❤️ Impact ovarian function
❤️ Impact implantation
❤️ Impact the immune system negatively with can impact our risk for miscarriage

You're probably thinking, "OMG! I hope I am not stressed."

Don't get me wrong, women all the time get pregnant when they are stressed. We have seen this time and time again.

However, this post is to remind you that stress management should be an important consideration in terms of your health.

Find a self-care activity that you can do each day such as meditation, listening to music, going for a walk, repeating affirmations, drinking tea, taking a relaxing shower etc.

Even just 10 mins a day of something that is calming can be so helpful.

Additionally, checking in with yourself every hour to see how you are doing is important. Maybe you need a deep breath, some water, some stretching, etc.

What are some ways you cope with your stress? Drop them in the comments below to help others get some ideas that may help them!

There are many reasons why it can be harder to con There are many reasons why it can be harder to conceive when it comes to PCOS. One of the more prevalent reasons is irregular or absent ovulation. This can make it difficult to know the best time to try.

Many women use ovulation stripes to detect a surge in Luteinizing Hormone (LH), which is a good indication that ovulation is near. However, in women with PCOS, that LH can be elevated throughout the entire cycle. In addition, high androgen levels and high insulin in the blood can cause issues with ovulation.

Other potential infertility considerations among women with PCOS include poor egg quality and low-grade inflammation.

However, there are things we can do to help women with PCOS from a naturopathic standpoint.

The worst is when you've worked for 4 hours, get t The worst is when you've worked for 4 hours, get to lunch and realize you don't have leftovers from dinner.

This happened to me one day and after spending 10 minutes staring into my fridge I came up with a salad with hard-boiled eggs.

It's probably one of the best lunches I've eaten! There were lots of veggies, healthy fats and protein in this meal.

It kept me full for a long period of time and I didn't feel the need to snack in the afternoon.

I believe it was the fats, I loaded it with avocado, 2 tbsp of a salad dressing (olive oil, salt, pepper, lemon juice, and Italian seasoning) and pumpkin seeds.

What are some of your favourite lunches?!?
