It is important to get assistance throughout your pregnancy so that you and your baby can maintain optimal health throughout pregnancy, labour and birth. Generally it is recommended to book a follow up visit each trimester in order to ensure everything is going correctly and you are being supported throughout each stage of the pregnancy. At each visit, we will run through an in-depth review of your health, symptoms, concerns and provide any recommendations on preparing for labor.

1st Trimester Visit


Overall: Support mother and provide specific recommendations on symptoms and changes that will occur during this time.

Nutritional analysis: Nutritional requirements change during this time. We will walk through diet, foods to consume/foods not to consume and specific recommendations to ensure you are getting the appropriate nutrition to support your body and your baby’s growth.

Professional Supplementation: Specific supplements will be prescribed to support the pregnancy and the growing baby.  Specific symptoms the mother is experiencing will also be addressed. Supplements are professional brands.

Activity: Discussion about appropriate physical activity during this time.

Symptom management: Support for common 1st trimester symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, morning sickness, constipation, headache, fatigue, bleeding/spotting, sleep, acne, etc.

Physical examination:  Thorough physical exam will be completed to ensure mother is healthy.

2nd Trimester Visit


Overall: Reassess mother’s overall health and support her during

Nutrition analysis: Re-assess diet and provide appropriate recommendations for increased requirements of certain foods such as protein, fiber, etc.

Professional Supplementation: Provide specific prescription and assessment to prevent common nutritional deficiencies through supplementation. Such as iron, B12, calcium, etc.

Symptom management: Support symptoms for common 2nd trimester symptoms such as GERD/heartburn, anxiety, stress, muscle cramps, urinary tract infections, Group B Streptococcus prevention, high blood sugar (gestational diabetes), high blood pressure (gestational hypertension), pain in lower abdomen, headaches, hemorrhoids, constipation, varicose veins, etc.

Symptom management: Support symptoms for common 3rd trimester symptoms such as stress, muscle cramps, urinary tract infections, Group B Streptococcus, high blood sugar (gestational diabetes), high blood pressure (gestational hypertension), headaches, hemorrhoids, constipation, varicose veins, incontinence.

Preparation for labor:
